When you build your own website with user-friendly tools (like Webs, of course) it’s easy create a good website. But what takes a website from good to great? A cohesive, thoughtful brand represented throughout the site experience. A great example of this comes from today’s Webs user example site, The Foresters.

The Foresters is a pop punk band made up of three teenage brothers from Bethany Connecticut. Evan, Hayden, and Liam Nork have just released their third album, Sun Songs, which we thoroughly enjoyed listening to on their website!

There are lots of great things about The Foresters’ site – clear navigation, lots of good content, a contact form, imagery – but what really sets this website apart is the clearly defined and harmonious brand they’ve created which is reflected here.

The look:

Visuals are a huge part of a brand’s identity. The Foresters’ website color palette is coordinated to match their latest album cover. The yellow, magenta, and black seen throughout the site are a great reflection of the band’s bold, bright, and intense sound. Playing their tracks while looking at the site is a very cohesive experience, and you get an immediate sense of exactly who these musicians are. Their brand is further reinforced by some really great t-shirt designs available on their merch page!

The content:

Being that they’re a youthful band, it’s no surprise that they take advantage of social media, and give their visitors a multi-media experience on the site. There are lots of photos, videos, and ways to listen to the music they produce. They feature easy-to-find links to their Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, and Instagram profiles in a streamlined persistent footer that helps their visitors connect with the band on a more personal level. There are links to buy tickets to their shows, and a press page with links to all the coverage the band has gotten this year alone.

Here is one of the performance videos you can see on the videos page of the site:

We’re delighted that The Foresters chose Webs to help build their band website, and we wish them lots of success! Congrats on creating a website that hits all the right notes for your brand.
