Whether on Facebook, Tumblr, podcasts, or blogs, everywhere you turn people are taking a look back at what they accomplished last year. Well, we hate to feel left out, so we wanted to join the fun!

Man, were our engineers busy in 2014. Below, we’ve collected a list of everything they added to the Webs experience in 2014, fueled by a desire to make Webs better every day – and an impressive volume of Mountain Dew.

WINTER, 2014

Website Redesign!
We kicked the year off by launching a redesign of the entire Webs external website. This included giving the whole site a new look and feel, and simplifying the signup experience for new users. Some of our favorite updates included the new themes page which shows big, bright previews of our designs, and the design overhaul of the Webs blog!

SPRING 2014:

Updated Mobile Websites
As it has for several years, the number of visitors accessing our users’ websites from mobile devices continued to grow, and we wanted to make sure those sites looked their best. So this spring we launched several enhancements to help users look great to their visitors on the go, including improvements in both mobile functionality and the appearance of their themes. To learn more, check out the Mobile tab on your Webs dashboard – Pro users can access our Mobilized Landing Page, which gives visitors all the info they need right up front.

New Photo Gallery Module
Big, eye-catching imagery has always been an important element on the web, and 2014 was no exception. With that in mind, we took a fresh look at our photo gallery feature and rebuilt it from scratch in order to better showcase our users’ images. With the new Photo Gallery Module, users can pull entire groups of photos into their sites and manage a variety of image settings all in one place. This module can be added to any page where other builder modules are found today.

Webs Goes International
We are thrilled to have such an international user base here at Webs. And while visitors have always had the ability to have their browsers translate our website for them, we wanted to give them an experience of our website that is truly personalized for them. We began by translating Webs (by humans, not algorithms!) into the 12 languages most popular with our audience. Check them out! | | | | | | | | | | |


SUMMER 2014:

450 New Template Designs!
If variety is the spice, then our engineers really spiced things up this summer! We were so excited to add 450 new designs to our theme library – many of which also have several color scheme variations available. In order to keep this from becoming overwhelming, we also updated the way that users can choose their theme. You can now search, browse, and filter by industry to find the perfect theme to make your own.

Webstore Coupon Codes
We were especially excited to introduce coupon codes for Pro users this year – one of the most requested webstore features! Business owners can now choose their own promo codes, determine the discount amount, and set the duration the promotion is valid. This is great for social media promotions that drive visitors to your website!

FALL 2014:

Local Listings Tool!
This new feature allows small business owners to take their marketing to the next level in just a few minutes. Local search is a powerful tactic for driving traffic to your website, and to your brick-and-mortar location (if you have one). Our new Local Listings tool allows business owners to fill out all their business details once and have them submitted to over 100 local search directories with one click. There’s a dashboard for tracking each listing over time, and business owners can check to see how their business is already doing on local search before they get started!

New TLD –
At the beginning of the year, dozens of new generic top-level domains (.com, .net, .org) were opened up on the web. One domain that Google took hold of right away was .soy, which is intended to be a place on the web specifically for the US Hispanic population. Webs was given the opportunity to be among the first brands to have a dedicated .soy website, and we jumped at the chance. Check out! header
