In the life of a busy entrepreneur, there are many moments where we wish we didn’t have to waste so much time doing the small stuff. Whether it be checking insignificant emails, or waiting the few extra seconds for a large file to upload.

Yesterday, I stumbled across an interesting app called Rescue Time. More or less, this application is a behind-the-scenes time ninja that reports back in how effectively you are using your time on your computer AND mobile device. It simply runs in the background and tracks how much time you spend on different applications to give you a picture of your daily tasks – and provides advice on how to better spend the time you may be wasting.

This got me thinking…what other apps are out there that could save business owners a headache and an hour?

I won’t waste any more of your precious time – here they are:

1. For Your Email
Acompli is an email application that can be applied to a slew of email clients (most just support Gmail). It has a smart inbox that will bring your most important emails to the top and work across many of your accounts to display what really matters.

Favorite Features: You can search by attachments or ‘favorite people’ and schedule emails to come back later when you need more time to handle the content.

2. For Your Files
is our go-to recommendation for file sharing. It syncs incredibly well with many email platforms and apps (including Acompli), and is the fastest way to bring up documents you may need on or offline for wherever you may be working.

Favorite Features: Dropbox for Business; provides top-notch privacy and security for managing which team members’ eyes see what, allows centralized administration, and gives the ability to chat to others looking at the same document.

3. For Your Meetings
is an easy solution for conducting conference calls. If you need to speak to multiple vendors, or get ahold of a few of your scattered employees, Speek allows free conference calls for up to five people. It supports web conferencing and international calling on either your computer OR mobile device for meetings to happen in a timely fashion.

Favorite Features: You can record and save calls for later, share files across Google Drive and Dropbox, and share screens to conduct PowerPoint presentations.

4. For Your Daily Tasks
is the best way to move your to-do lists to a digital space. It acts much like your typical pen-and-paper duo, but if you don’t complete the task you wrote for the day (all it takes is a click to cross it out) it will automatically roll it over to the next day for you.

Favorite Features: You can set recurring items by saying “Send Agenda Every Month,” and you get five long-term lists where you can keep track of annual goals or personal development. It also helps that there is a setting to have the Pusheen cat dance across your screen each time you complete a task – that little motivation definitely goes a long way.

We use Podio for our business documentation & in house management of staff/projects/events. Podio is like facebook but for business, allowing you to create your own workspaces, customise your databases and how the data is inputted, assign tasks to your staff with deadlines and links to the appropriate information regarding the assigned task

We use Any.DO for storing tasks on the go during the day. You can aslo share these tasks with other Any.DO users, but we mostly use Podio for delgated tasks, Any.DO is better for personal accomplishments, allowing you to plan your day with a beautiful interface to move tasks to next week, tomorrow or select a time to finish it today! Push notifications enabled for maximum reminders and motivational feedback after completing your work.

Best thing about both of these listed above is that they are free!! Well Podio is free for up to 5 people in a work space. If you have more tha 5 people in your team and working with a small budget you can create separate workspaces for different parts of your company or even able to contact Podio for one year sponsorship.
