For our next installment of the popular Example Site Wednesday posts we would like to highlight a simplistic website. Restless Native Goods is a website that is dedicated to making native American-inspired jewelry.

Using minimalistic website layout is an excellent way to put the emphasis on the product offering.  Clean layout helps site visitors to quickly discover what this website is about, the type of products available, who the creators are and how to contact them.

Easily located information helps your website to make a good first impression. First impressions count in website design and in business.

1. Perception = Quality.

When visiting your website for the first time visitors make up their minds about your business within a blink of an eye. Attention span of site visitors is diminishing with every generation and if your website is perceived negatively by the visitor, you could  lose them as potential clients.

We all tend to  make-up our minds about items based on looks.  Thus, if your website is clunky and distracting to the visitors’ eye, it can reflect poorly on your overall business. You could offer the best products and customer service, but if your website is poorly designed, you’ll be misjudged as offering something of poor quality.

2. Halo Effect.

The good news is that the opposite is also true, if visitors come to your website and love the way it looks, they are more likely to positively perceive your products/services.

So take a moment today to review your website for possible improvements you can do today to clear up some of the clutter.

Check back next Wednesday for another example site. Would you like to see your site featured? Let us know in the comments, it could be you next week!

Awesome – The minimalistic template makes the images stand out nicer. The Featured Products works well at the top of the sidebar because as soon as you visit you can immediately see the Featured Products on the Website. 😀

    Here’s Two of My Websites
that I would really appreciate you having a quick look at:

“StyleMy.Webs” – A Website for Customizing your Webs Site. It includes Templates, Customizations, Codes, How-to Tutorials, and More. 🙂

“PC Support Guy” – A Website that offers Free Easy PC Support for anyone having trouble with their computer. It also includes Recommended Free Downloads. 🙂

(Both of these websites are new but they still have lots of content on them. They both have custom CSS templates made from scratch.)

I like the ‘feel’ it gives you when you look at it, very smooth yet sharp ! does that make sense ? easy to navigate, and great colour contrast.

I wouldn’t mind my site being featured, would like some genuine critisim back whether its good or bad….

Even though I’ve already cleaned up most of the clutter that was originally in my site, I plan on cleaning up even more. Most of it will be back-end, and the recoded version should load faster. If I can figure out a way to store my largest files elsewhere, I may even get rid of the flash player (the slowest part to load) I use altogether, and replace it with something much faster using the user’s own default music player.

Still, it’s pretty streamlined already. Go ahead and take a look.
