Example Site Wednesday: Roborovski Hamsters

Excuse us for our lapse in bringing you an example site last week. Everybody here at Webs was caught up in our redesign, and we hope you have been playing around with some of our new features as well! Our snazzy new blog page is now the perfect place to showcase your websites!

Without further ado, here is today’s example site:
This week, we take a look at Roborovski Hamsters, a website dedicated to providing information and tips for taking care of Roborovski Hamsters, the smallest and fastest hamsters around.

Roborovski Hamsters

Roborovski Hamsters does a great job of making a simple website with TONS of useful information. One of the greatest aspects of this site is their wildly popular forums. They have a bunch of different categories and very active members where people can discuss their hamsters. Roborovski Hamsters also uses these great features:

Pictures and Videos that any member can contribute to. This is a great way to strengthen and grow the community on your site.
FAQs to answer frequent questions and not clog up your forums with recurring topics
Guestbook to let visitors leave a note or ask a quick question

One of the reasons that Roborovski Hamsters is so successful is because they followed the number one rule of a successful site: finding a need and addressing it.

They found a topic that hadn’t been covered yet on the internet and did a great job of providing the answer to that need. Although the niche of their visitors was small, they did a great job providing for the needs of the niche and ended up making themselves the go-to place. It is always easier to start off small and grow bigger than to try to compete with huge sites with strong followings.

As the year comes to a close, we would like to thank all of our blog readers for their support in making Example Site Wednesday’s so big. It’s awesome to see what everybody is doing with our site builder and the amount to effort people have put into their sites. Picking out a site every week is becoming harder and harder as there are just so many sites that deserve the spotlight.

With that being said, if you want your site to be an example site, make sure to keep on commenting so you don’t get lost in the mountain of awesome websites we check out!

That’s it for today, we hope you enjoyed today’s post. From everyone here at Webs, Have a Great New Year!

Their site is great. I checked it out when I was getting started. Now that the holidays are over, if you would like to showcase a website that is not selling anything or based on games, please share my site. Like the showcased site this week, my genealogy website is designed to help others. I allow visitors and members to search for their ancestors by providing obituaries, photos, and vital records from the Woodcock Valley area in Huntingdon County, PA.

Nice website there! Inpressive forum numbers and indeed ALOT of information. Its simple and easy in use.

Awesome that webs does this kind of promotion for websites and for others users to learn from. I Think that my website would be a nice example. Its professional, easy in use, got alot of features and maybe the biggest reason of all: All I do is for the love of music!

Thats right. I’m a Dj. Together with a mate I mix music episodes for our own official podcast that we bring out in Itunes. My website is based on music and to spread it around. All there is totally free and easy in use. Music, Music video’s, pictures from al kinda Dj’s, random music wallpapers (HQ) and lots of more. It would be awesome if I get more people around. It motivates me to get bigger and bigger. Its like my payment in the form of people that I can make happy. Its all for free. All for the love of music.

Can you please check out my site? It’s called Dance and Devour, and it’s a place for people to get together, make friends, chat, and share their work. There’s also blogs, short stories, and a bunch of other stuff the four creators of the site submitted for our audience’s entertainment.

My friends and I have put a lot of time and effort into making this network. Can you please feature us so we can get more active members?

I really like this website. They’ve taken a simple Webs template and created easy navigation with readable text and good images.

I’m not really into hamsters but I found the site interesting and learned something new. Good job…

Would be great if ducksonskates could be on example site wednesdays. Although ducksonskates isn’t about hamsters it is devoted to another animal-ducks.
I’m sure the residents of your local duck pond would love it if you could come visit (the website and the pond) and make sure to bring plenty of soggy bread.

This site is jammed with everything you need to know about hamsters. Very user friendly, nice design and layout.
I don’t personally have a hamster. A few years ago my daughter wanted one, a lady from my grandmother’s building was about to give my daughter hers. However it passed away before she had the opportunity to take it home. Broke my daughters heart. I will deffinetly be sharing this site with her so she can learn about them.
Thanks WEBS team for featuring this site!
