Pagemodo–a member of the Webs Family of Products–recently conducted a survey to find out how small business owners are using Facebook pages.

The results held good news for entrepreneurs who have business Facebook pages that link to their business websites:

  • 47% said their Facebook pages are pushing a significant amount of traffic to their websites
  • 48% reported that a portion of the traffic converts into customers

To see the full survey results, and to find out what kind of content entrepreneurs are posting on their Facebook pages, check out the Facebook Survey 2011 infographic on the Pagemodo blog.

Have you ever wished that more people would read  an amazing blog post you wrote? Or maybe you took a hilarious picture of your cat that the world needs to see? Well, worry no more because with the help of Webs’ social buttons your cat could have his own fan-made auto-tuned remix in no time.

Just What are Social Buttons?

Social buttons are links that you can place on your website (usually after some content) that let your visitors share that content with their friends with the click of a button. Here at Webs, we are introducing two new social buttons, Twitter and Google, as well as a revamped Facebook button. Using these social buttons can help increase website traffic and increase your SEO ranking.

The Facebook “Like” Button

As you all know, the “Like” button on Facebook is a way for people to show their appreciation for a friend’s status update or picture. Now, though, you can have this button placed anywhere on the web so that Facebookers can share content to Facebook from anywhere! When a site visitor presses this button, a message will be displayed on their Facebook profile as well as on their friends’ walls, giving your link tons of visibility.

In 2010, Facebook boasted over 500 million active users, and about half of their active users sign on each day. That is a huge amount of people who could potentially look at your site. This makes Facebook a great way to publicize your website and to help you get more traffic.

So, how do you start promoting your website on Facebook? Facebook offers a range of site-promotion features, but today we’re going to focus on the free and simple steps you can take to start publicizing your site on Facebook.

Small businesses have great products and services, but they don’t always have the volume of customers they deserve. One effective and affordable option for getting new customers is to advertise on Facebook, which currently has over 500 million users.

What Are Facebook Ads?

Facebook Ads are the small, square, image-based and text-based ads that show up on the side of Facebook pages to advertise businesses to people using Facebook. Unlike a TV ad, which anyone can see, Facebook ads are highly targeted.

Today we are excited to announce the addition of Pagemodo to the Webs family of products.  Pagemodo joins the Webs website-building solution you know and love and ContactMe, a lightweight CRM tool, to form a suite of online tools for small business growth.

Pagemodo’s Pagebuilder is an online tool that enables small businesses to design their own custom Facebook pages for free and with ease.

Why Pagemodo?

Small businesses are increasingly turning to Facebook as a new marketing channel for attracting customers and promoting their businesses. Thanks to Pagemodo’s Pagebuilder, entrepreneurs don’t need to have any technical or design skills to add tabs–such as a “Welcome” tab–to their Facebook fan pages.

The result is a Facebook fan page that is fresh, stylish, and informative. If you compare a Pagemodo Facebook page to a non-Pagemodo Facebook page, it’s like looking at the difference between a professionally-produced TV commercial and local business’s homemade commercial…but in this case, you get to make the glossy, impressive version in a matter of minutes, and for free!

Personalized hand painted baby clothes

It’s that time of the week again where we take a look at one of the many awesome sites that our users are coming up with and show you what we love about them. This week’s example site is ‘My Little Chameleon’, a website that is dedicated to selling personalized hand painted baby clothes.

My Little Chameleon does a great job of finding the right balance between having a unique custom header, that clearly presents the message about what the website does, and the simple  site layout with easy navigation. Here are some additional Webs Features they use:

This week, for our Example Site Wednesday, we focus on a site that delivers the latest news in the world of hockey and baseball. ‘HBT’ is a site that is dedicated to providing a place for people to come, learn, and discuss what’s happening in the world of these sports.

Hockey/Baseball Talk does a great job of regularly updating the website and integrating videos and pictures in their posts to keep people entertained. The old saying “Picture is worth 1,000 words” really applies to this website.
