1. Keep a to-do list that actually gets done
Trello is a quick, easy, and visual way to create tasks and track their progress to completion.

Is there anything you wouldn’t give for a few more hours in the day? With all of the hard work that goes into running a business, sometimes your marketing efforts aren’t as efficient as you’d like them to be. Thankfully, there are a number of ways to save time marketing your business.

While we don’t have any magic way to add time to your day, we can probably help you find a few minutes you didn’t know were there.

Social media helps you establish a presence in the digital world and connects you directly with your customers. Without a plan, however, you could be wasting valuable time. Here are some ways you can optimize your time spent in the social media landscape:

This month we’ve been talking about trends and inspiration, and one big trend in small business is increasing productivity. So today we have a guest post on that topic from Danny Carlson, a business owner who works primarily online and writes about financial topics including entrepreneurship, money/time management, and productivity.

If you recently started a small business, congratulations. You’re already well on your way to enjoying the benefits of entrepreneurship. If you’re going the “solopreneur” route, your chances of success are that much better because your support costs are greatly reduced. However, if you’re “the guy” in your venture, you’re going to have a lot of hard work in front of you. Little distractions in any business can be dangerous, but for a one-person company, wasting valuable time can put undue stress on your venture. Read on for the best ways solopreneurs can get the most out of every day.

We’re continuing our series on time management and efficiency for small business owners with advice from the folks here at Webs who have some of the most demanding schedules in the company. If they can do it, you can do it!

We hope these tips and tricks — ranging from very logical to somewhat obscure (keep reading) — will help you feel more productive and less stressed as you work toward your goals. Please share your own tips and tricks in the comments below!

Our series on time management for small business continues today with a look at a very cool productivity app that is gaining recognition across the web. I first heard of RescueTime from a co-worker here at Webs who says that it’s incredibly helpful — now that he’s gotten over the shock of seeing how much time he actually spends on email every day.

About RescueTime
The purpose of the RescueTime application is to help you see where you are spending all of your time — the good, the bad, and the ugly. You can measure your time automatically on the computer, and also manually track your time spent doing other things. The application, downloaded from the internet, hangs out in the background on your computer and tracks your time spent on email, on various websites, and even on documents to help you understand how your time is being spent in reality — not in your own [possibly rose-colored] vision of yourself.
