Happy Hump Day, Webs readers!
To help you get through the rest of the week, we thought we would pass on Mashable’s 15 magical tips to make you happy throughout your work day!
Bringing a few desk gadgets that you love to the office can do wonders for productivity. It is also just a nice stress reliever to reach for your computer mouse and accidentally grab the toy stuffed manatee you brought from home that reminds you of your kids.
You’ve made your desk feel like home, and sometimes it is hard to get away from it. Taking a walk is a good option to clear your mind if you reach a writer’s block or if you just want to work a little exercise into your day. Moving to a standing desk is also a good option if you don’t have ten minutes to spare.
While it is said that you should drink 96 ounces of water every day to stay healthy, hydrated, and less hangry, staying hydrated can really improve your mood, too. It is also a good way to interact with coworkers around the water cooler (see what I did there?).
Everyone loves to receive a compliment. Surprisingly, giving them out can also help your mood. Seeing someone’s reaction when they receive the compliment could be the positive vibes you need to get you through the day.
Adding a plant to your work environment can do more than just decorate your desk. Plants are a natural air cleanser. Just decide which plant meets your office needs — a plant that requires a bit more maintenance and watering could help break up your work load.
If you have a presentation coming up or have been working on a deal with a vendor, don’t be afraid to stop and give yourself a pep talk before the big moment. Some may feel silly talking to themselves in a mirror, but we think even an internal pep talk can give you the confidence you need going into any situation.
Many office spaces use paper or plastic products that can add up to being harmful to the environment. To be mindful of your carbon footprint and add a dash of personality to your lunch, consider bringing in your own reusable dishware.
Laughter is the best medicine. But if pugs aren’t your favorite pup, you can watch this adorable corgi video that was trending this morning!
…or bounce around on the exercise ball you bought as a desk chair to help with your posture; because why not?!
Helping someone out will not only help your project, but it can help you feel useful and confident to enjoy the rest of your day.
Keeping a tiny vial of essential oil at your desk is a simple trick to soothing nerves or aiding digestion. A little does a lot, so be sure to be mindful of your neighbors if you keep it at your desk!
Time management is the key to feeling productive. Try making small to-do lists that will give you the utmost satisfaction when you are able to cross them off. Every.single.one.
Consider taking a walk to a local grocery store to satisfy trick number two, and get a snack you haven’t tried before to add a little adventure to your day.
By reading this article, you’re already on the right track.
Sometimes it is better to just find a place where you don’t have to work so hard to be happy. Set forth and find what truly makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning.
