As of this week, Webs Pro website owners have a new tool with which to grow their online businesses: coupon codes!
The ability to create customized coupon codes is one of the most frequent feature requests we see. If you are among the business owners who requested coupon codes, you most likely already have a good idea of how you would use them. But if you haven’t considered this option before, here are a few examples of how you might use coupon codes in your own business:
1. Sale Promotions
The most common use of coupon codes is to promote a sale to your potential customers. You could do this in an email newsletter, by posting it on your website, or in direct mail pieces.
2. Social Media
If you have an active presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., a great way to build loyalty with your fan base is to offer them special coupon codes. Not only does this drive traffic (and sales) from your social media networks to your website, it also gives you a good idea of how much your following is engaging with your social content. (Hint: Pagemodo Post Designer is a great option for creating graphics that would include your coupon code).
3. Customer Satisfaction
If you have a dissatisfied customer on your hands, one of the best ways to bring them back around can be to offer them a discount on a future purchase. You can let them know about a coupon code you’ve already created, or make one just for them to really make them feel taken care of. (JOHNS_DISCOUNT50)
So how do you use these new coupon codes?
If you are a Webs user with a Pro package and web store, follow these steps:
1. Log into Webs and navigate to your web store
2. Click into the Settings menu
3. Locate Coupon Codes under Premium Features
4. To create a coupon, click Add Coupon
5. Customize your coupon with the following fields:
- Code: Come up with a short, relevant easy-to-remember coupon code
- Discount: You will be able to choose a percentage off, or a dollar amount
- Duration: Set the number of days you’d like this coupon to be active
On your customer’s side, they will make their selections and then enter the coupon code you’ve told them about when they go to check out. When you have an active coupon in the system, a Coupon Code box will show up in the shopping cart interface (there will be no box shown when you have no active coupons).
