Example Site Wednesday: Sian’s Cooking

It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time to showcase another amazing website. Since it’s the summertime, we’ve decided to feature a site with a little tropical flair. Sian’s Cooking is a catering service that specializes in authentic Caribbean cuisine. The website is attractive and well put together, reflecting the high quality of food and services that Sian’s Cooking offers. Check it out for yourself:

Authentic Caribbean cuisineSian’s Cooking showcases their delicious food in a website that is interactive for both current and potential clients. Some of the Webs features they use to do this include:

  • Blog to share recipes and cooking tips with visitors. Sian’s frequent and helpful updates are sure to keep visitors coming back.
  • Links page to provide an electronic version their menus. This is more convenient for clients and is also environmentally friendly.
  • ContactMe App & Contact Form  to gather contact information from visitors that are interested in the products and services they provide. The app is great since it saves you time by organizing the contact information for you.

Another Webs feature that Sian’s Cooking takes full advantage of is the website’s sidebar. Take a hint from Sian’s Cooking and include interactive elements on your sidebar. A sidebar is a great place to put these interactive elements, since you can make the sidebar visible on every page of your website. The site allows its visitors a number of ways to become engaged with the company, including actions such as “Liking” it on Facebook, subscribing via email, and following the company on Twitter. The site also takes advantage of the Facebook Connect feature as another way of engaging visitors.

Sian’s Cooking did a great job with creating a clean and well put-together website. If you liked the site, or if you would like to be the next featured Example Site, just leave a comment below!

Until next time,

Happy Site Building!

Thank you Webs for choosing me as the example site this week. The timing couldn’t be better since I just updated my site this week and recently began advertising lunch service. The added exposure is a God send.

Reasonable site, but I reckon they could use the apps a little better. Blog was a bit clunky to read through, resizing the pics would of made it easier. I use the documents app for adding in recipes to my site, great for the fact it has search option and recipes can be organised into categories. Check it out http://www.thesilverdoor.net
