The motto of my site is: TRIPHONACTION. http://www.22222.webs.com. A name for a site is coaxingly fine. However, the purpose of objectivity in the site can be epic in content. Ideology, for instance, is the focal point of my site!
that if we called a website by any other name would not smell as sweet so would websites do if by different names were they called, so retain that dear perfection wish you own without that title. websites, dont worry bout the name and focus on the reputation, tis not the name that is important but the reputation attach to it that truly makes a site shine.
We kinda followed these steps, but failed to realise that because of Channel most people can’t spell Cocoa anymore, doh!
In case you missed it –> Coco Channel ;o)
thank you for sharing this nice article.
Great infographic, thank you.
I’d appreciate thoughts on the reference to ‘names that can be pronounced in several different ways’. I doubt Nike are bothered that some say Nike and others say Nike-ee. In fact, I’d think it could be an opportunity for conversation in the market. “Hey, why do you say it like that. I say..?” At least they’re talking about your brand, right? Thoughts?
I guess I better go back to the drawing board and find a better name for my business. =(
Some people advise that for a web business, make sure at least one strong keyword is in the name. As with other types of businesses, there are always exceptions. But get a keyword in there if you want SEO development to be as pleasant as possible. I think I got the name of my main business, but the other one I’m doing I’m having trouble with because every domain name I put in has been taken. Like in love, it seems all the good ones are gone.
I agree that names that can be pronounced several different ways is not the way to go. You don’t want people struggling with the pronunciation of your business name and that goes with initials as well unless…. you can make a new word from the initials, for example SCUBA.
That’s more exception then rule, love the blog!
If you are naming your company on your own and not going to a professional, this post is spot on. If you are going to a professional naming company there are some very interesting names that can be developed out of foreign words and word combinations.
Great post and everyone looking to name their own company should heed the advice here.
Very good article. I definitely appreciate
this website. Thanks!
Hmmm.
If you look at the sources for this infographic, one (SBA) is a set of initials. One (Entrepreneur) is originally from a foreign language. And then there’s PNAS.
Three naming no-nos in five sources. Good luck to Häagen-Dazs, I say.
