At Webs, we know what it’s like to put off all of your holiday shopping until the last minute (hint: it’s bad!). Well, this holiday season, we are getting a head start and we thought we would let you all in on some places on Webs that are a great places to start looking for gifts!

So for this week’s example site, we are showcasing an awesome site with a unique twist on gifts. ‘Mels Sweet Bar’ is a website that sells delicious looking…soaps. That’s right, soap. All of the soaps on the site are handmade and made to look like something delicious! Take a look around this unique site:

fresh handmade soap from the heart

We have to admit that this site confuses us a bit; our eyes tell us to eat it, but our brains tell us no! One thing that isn’t confusing however, is the site’s simple layout. We love how the site is so straightforward and only uses apps that serve the main purpose of the site. Take a look at how ‘Mels Sweet Bar’ uses these Webs apps:

–          Web Store to easy and professionally display products available for purchase
–          Contact form to allow simple way for potential buyers to contact the site owner
–          Site translator to help sell their products worldwide

In addition to these great apps, Mels Sweet Bar utilizes the Members app extremely well. They offer special promotions and sneak peeks of new products to their member’s to encourage sign ups. It’s no wonder they have so many members and that the list is continually growing.

Quick Tip: Site Members are your loyal base of customers and are more likely to returning regularly if they have a good reason. Treat them with extra care to encourage purchasing, promoting of your site and maybe even help you gain new sign-ups.

When Christmas comes 'round, what could be better, than to find in your mailbox, a Santa letter? Explorations of Painting, Digital Painting, Painting on Glass, Fused Glass, Dichroic Glass, Drawing etc.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s example site! Join us again next week for some more gift giving ideas and another great site! Leave a comment below if you think your site has what it takes to be an example site!

    Hello Webs Community,
I believe you should feature our Christian Social Network: God’s Regeneration. http://www.godsregeneration.com

This Social network includes a custom template for that social network feel and we have implemented many of the webs.com apps. We use these apps to their full extent. We have an active community posting on the forums and participating in contests weekly. We hope you feature our site!

    God Bless,
    The God’s Regeneration Team!

    Hi,
    I have a criket site (http://www.cricketheroes.webs.com/).
I believe it has the potential to be an example site because it is something new (pressuming we’ve hardly had any sports site).

It sets an example on good community, sports articles, games, and much more.
Looking forward to see my site as Web’s example site. It will be a honour.

    Cheers, Punit.

I love mels sweet bar and elf satcys letters from santa i have added both to my favourites and gone on “elf yourself” and sent it to all my friends! awesome or what! I really like the design of mels sweet bar and the logo/title at the top is amasing! Is it possible to make something like that without paying?

I would also like to suggest my website for next example site wednesdays and no it is not intended to be taken too seriously.
    http://www.ducksonskates.webs.com
Is my site totally devoted to ducks! All those duck facts you just can’t find anywhere else! And I know, it’s lack of visitors and members might be a slight hinderence and yes we do need some help to get up of the ground. But ubfortunatly i am working on a budget of £0.00 and i kind of need a light in dark times. Ducks are never taken seriously or assisted with their daily business.
Hoping webs will be the first
    Alice,

Can somebody tell me what site template Mel’s Sweet Bar uses? I really like the simplicity of it and the custom logo and background tiling on the sides. I can’t find anything like that when I search the templates. Thanks!

Awesome that webs does this kind of promotion for websites and for others users to learn from. I Think that my website would be a nice example. Its professional, easy in use, got alot of features and maybe the biggest reason of all: All I do is for the love of music! :)

Thats right. I’m a Dj. Together with a mate I mix music episodes for our own official podcast that we bring out in Itunes. My website is based on music and to spread it around. All there is totally free and easy in use. Music, Music video’s, pictures from al kinda Dj’s, random music wallpapers (HQ) and lots of more. It would be awesome if I get more people around. It motivates me to get bigger and bigger. Its like my payment in the form of people that I can make happy. Its all for free. All for the love of music.

    Friendly Greetz
