Example Site Wednesday: Ellie Inspired

Our favorite day of the week is here and that means that it is time for another Example Site Wednesday. This week, Ellie Inspired has caught our attention with their simple and cute website design. ‘Ellie Inspired’ features patterns and tutorials for do-it-yourself dresses. The site creator lovingly describes them as “love clothes” for your special blessing.

Ellie Inspired does a great job of utilizing Webs features including:

Forums to provide a discussion area for members.

Photo Gallery to showcase and let visitors share photos.

Web Store for an easy way to display and sell merchandise.

A notable characteristic of Ellie inspired is their blog. If you haven’t checked it out yet, do so, but be prepared to say “Awww.” Cute dresses on even cuter kids are one thing, but it is obvious that ‘Ellie Inspired’ puts a lot of time and effort into their blog to make it shine. The writer of the blog is very diligent in updating with new and fresh information several times a week. We know a thing or two about blogging, and trust us, that’s a tough thing to do.

Blogs are not only a great way to communicate with your visitors, they can help drive significant amount of traffic to your site.

Consider this: Someone searching for services that ‘Ellie Inspired’ provides may choose to type in “dress patterns” or “children’s dresses” into their favorite search engine. Ellie Inspired would be sure to pop-up in search results given they have the right keywords on their homepage. BUT… What happens, when someone has a more specific question about making clothing for their kids? They would be more likely to type something like “How can I make a jumper for my child?”

Smart keyword selection on your homepage one way to generate leads, but for more detailed searches, your blog can do wonders! Writing about relevant and interesting topics will help you pick up some of these specific searches.

The most important thing about writing blogs is to remember to be persistent.  Don’t get discouraged if you find small return at first or that the traffic it drives does not convert the way you want it to. Just remember: it is important that you give your blog time grow. Just like a website, you need to keep on experimenting and improving your blog to see great results.

Think you have a great site? Leave a comment below and you could see your site here next week. Got any blogging tips we didn’t mention? Share them! We would love to hear your input in the comments below!

Until next time, happy site building!

This is the most awesome web builder/site builder on the internet. I have several websites and I tell you I have NEVER been able to complete a site so fast and clean and extreemly comprehensive. As an internet marketer who makes money from the web it is important to save on cost and Webs is just the best-no competion, take it from someone that has it all…you name the big guys I have used their web buider only to be frustrated and dissappointed at the result…Thank you Webs, with hugs and Kisses!! You rock, this is so awesome it is unbelievable, I will feature it this site to my customers and link back to Webs just as my thank you. The only short comming is there is not site map apps but I get someone to optimize my site and add that. This is so fun and easy even a caveman can build a decent site. When my site is ready I will let you guys see why I am so excited!!

i would be honoured if you could pick my (now official!) music fansite as an example site. I’ve worked on it very hard and have improved it over the years using a lot of application from webs.com. I’m always trying to get new things on it to get and keep the members interested. fi update news/blogs regularly, have special members features, adjust navigation to make it easy to use and find things. My site has got visiters from all over the world and over 800 members. I’m very proud of that…lol. I know i could probably improve things so i’m always looking for new things, other website to learn from and better lay-outs etc. I would appreciate constructive feedback as well.

This is a website dedicated to those who believe in metaphysical magic and traditional rituals that have been forgotten from long long ago…I hope it would atleast inspire mor epeople to remember our mother and remember when she only nurtutred us before we defied her and went our evil ways. How we can heal each other because we are all ONE LIFE and ONE CONCIOUSNESS!…everything is energy and we to are the energy, we can manifest what we will with form!

    =D

Peace to all. i will keep adding and will never give up hoping to show the world how we should be!
