Today’s how-to tip is an oldie but a goodie. One way to make your website more personal and stand out while strengthening your brand is by adding a favicon to your website URL.
What is a Favicon?
A favicon is a small image next to the website address you see in the browser window. For example: the “W” we have for Webs.com. It comes in a standard size (16×16 pixels):
![]()
How to add a Favicon?
1. Create favicon.ico file
This file can be created via a regular photo editing software. If you don’t have any handy, not a problem. Search online for services that help you create a favicon. To search, just type in “favicon” into your favorite search engine. A few sites that our users have used in the past to create theirs were :
2. Once you have the file created go to File Manager & Upload your file using the “Single File Uploader”
3. You are all Done!
NOTE: In order for your favicon to show up, the file you upload has to be named favicon.ico. Once uploaded, it might take up to 24 hours for our system to process the file and for your favicon to show up.
Until next time, happy site editing!
